India: Coal production jumps 36% in first half of May 2022

India’s coal production increased 36% y-o-y to 33.94 mnt during 1-15 May 2022 against 24.91 mnt in the same period last year. The contribution from the state-run miner Coal India stood at 26.35 mnt, rising 34% y-o-y. Total coal dispatch in this period stood at 37.18 mnt, up 16% y-o-y.
