Indian government will put up more than 107 of coal mines for sale via auctions in the coming future. The objective is to increase domestic coal production amid rising demand. India’s coal production target for FY23 is 900 mnt. Already 43 coal mines have been allocated since June 2020 through commercial coal mining auctions. The country produced 777 mnt in FY22.
