India: Coal Ministry identifies more blocks to boost coking coal production

The Ministry of Coal has identified four coking coal blocks. Moreover, geological reports for fresh 4-6 blocks have been finalised by the Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (CMPDI) in an attempt to boost domestic coking coal production. These blocks are expected to be offered in subsequent rounds of auction for private sector. Notably, India has a target of 140 mnt of coking coal production by 2030.
