Today at OMC’s chrome ore auction, entire material of 56,000t from South Kaliapani and Sukrangi mines was sold at high premium of around INR 5,500-13,000/t from floor price. Sources reported that aggressive bidding occurred during the auction due to the combination of high demand and limited supply of chrome ore. The bid price has increased by INR 419-4,992/t from Jan’24 auction’s bid price.
