India: Bulk ferrous scrap imports hit record high in Oct’22

India’s bulk ferrous scrap imports hit a new high at 336,644 t in Oct’22. The volumes rose by 65% m-o-m compared to 203,848 t in Sept’22.
Lower bulk prices compared to containers and limited scrap availability in domestic markets resulted a rise in imports.
Major exporters were the US, the UK and the Netherlands.
