Brahmani River Pellets Limited (BRPL), an Odisha based pellet maker has achieved the highest ever pellet shipment volumes in Dec’19. The company sailed out 7 vessels of total quantity 3,87,007 MT. Out of this, six were export vessels amounting a quantity of 335,007 MT and one was coastal vessel of 52,000 MT.
Prior to this in Nov’19, the company reported the highest month shipment of 3,57,562 MT.

BRPL is co-owned by Thriveni Pellets Pvt Ltd and JSW Techno Projects Ltd. BRPL has set-up a 4.0 MnT pa iron ore pellet plant at, Jajpur, Odisha, 4.0 MnT pa iron ore concentrate production at beneficiation plant Barbil, Odisha, a 218 km long iron ore slurry pipeline from beneficiation plant to Pellet plant.
India exported 11.72 MnT pellets during Jan-Nov’19, according to data maintained with SteelMint. BRPL remained the largest exporter followed by JSPL, KIOCL and Rashmi. China remained the most preferred destination for Indian pellet exports occupying 70% share followed by Oman, South Korea & Turkey.
