Steel major SAIL held an auction for 4,800 t of basic grade pig iron (31 units from PCM I and 17 units from PCM-II) on 8 Sept’21 from its Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) in Odisha. Of the total quantity offered from PCM-I, the entire material of 3,100 t was booked at a weighted average price of INR 36,500/t exw, as per sources. PCM-II yard material was booked at INR 37,530/t exw – more or less stable compared to the previous auction conducted on 28 Aug in which 3,200 t of material was booked at INR 37,500/t exw.
