SAIL held an auction for 2,500 t of steel grade pig iron on 14 April, 2022 from Durgapur Steel Plant. Buyers booked the entire quantity at a weighted average price of INR 57,500/t exw. Bid prices increased by INR 450/t ($6/t) against the previous auction from DSP. In another auction on the same day from the IISCO Steel Plant-Burnpur, 300 t of pig iron was booked at 56,550/t exw.
