Govt. owned – Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) conducted an auction today for 25,500 t (52 & 60 kg-full length) commercial rails from its Bhilai Steel Plant, Chhattisgarh. Out of the total offered quantity, buyers booked 24,500 t (rail 60 kg) at INR 30,100 /t exw, 600 t ( rail 52 kg) at INR 41,500/t and the remaining 400 t left unsold. In its previous auction conducted on 12th Feb for 25,000 t, buyers booked 18,000 t (rail 60kg ) at a weighted average price of INR 28,650/t exw.
