India: Bids rise by INR 1,100/t ($15) in SAIL’s BSP steel auction for defective steel products

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) conducted an auction from its Central India based Bhilai Steel Plant for defective steel products on 12 Feb ’21. The auction fetched a good response on improved buying interest, sources said.

Bid prices for bloom moved up by INR 1,100/t against the previous auction conducted on 04 Feb’21.

23,021 t of defective steel was put up for auction out of which 88.72% material was sold out.

SteelMint’s billet index stood at INR 34,050/t exw Raipur on 12 Feb’21, up by INR 1,150 w-o-w on improved trades.
