SAIL conducted an auction for 2,500 t (60 kg and 52 kg, full length) of commercial rails on 26 May’24 from Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) in Chhattisgarh. Buyers booked around 2,000 t of 60 kg rails at an average price of INR 43,700/t (INR 42,250-45,100/t) exw, bids increased by around INR 600/t from previous auction conducted on 11 May. Meanwhile, 500 t of 52 kg rails remained unsold.
