SAIL today conducted an auction for 4,800 t pig iron from its Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP). Entire quantity put in the auction got booked at INR 35,650/t exw. The previous auction for 5,600 t pig iron conducted on 24 Dec’20 fetched bids at INR 33,550/t exw. Supply constraints in pig iron and hike in billet prices have resulted in hike in bids in SAIL’s pig iron auction.
