State-owned Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) conducted an auction for a negligible quantity of around 400 t (four lots) of silico manganese (56/16, 0-3mm and 3-10mm) from its Chandrapur Ferro Alloy Plant in Maharashtra on 8 Sept’21. Buyers booked only one lot of 3-10mm material at INR 75,930/t exw. Bids decreased by INR 1,320/t ($17/t). At the previous auction on 31 Aug, two lots of 0-3 mm were offered that failed to fetch bids. At an earlier auction on 18 Aug, 200 t of 3-10mm material had been booked at INR 77,250/t exw.
