SAIL had scheduled an auction for 15,000 t (60 kg) of full length commercial rails from Chhattisgarh’s Bhilai Steel Plant on 7 Sept’22. The set base price for the auction was INR 46,700/t exw at which buyers booked only 4,250 t. At the previous auction on 23 Aug for 11,000 t, buyers booked only 750 t at INR 51,400/t exw.
