SAIL conducted an auction today for 6,000 t pig iron from its Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP). Entire quantity put up for the auction got booked at INR 33,800/t exw which is lower by INR 1,300/t compared to the previous auction conducted on 08 Jan’21. Decline in domestic billet prices and price drop by eastern India based private pig iron players has led to decline in bids in today’s auction.
