Coal India’s subsidiary Western Coalfields Ltd (WCL) conducted an auction for 149,500 t of coal on 29 June. The entire quantity was booked at a price realisation of INR 7,738/t, fetching a premium of 185% over the notified price. Bid premiums fell from 221% in May as buyers in the resellers market resisted to purchase high-priced coal that was booked by traders in the previous auction.
