Coal India subsidiary Bharat Coking Coal Ltd has scheduled an auction under the ‘Special Spot for Coal Importers’ scheme in order to reduce import dependency, as per latest reports. In the latest auction to be held on 2 June, 300,000 t of coal via rail-mode will be offered against an extended period of lifting during June-Nov ’21. The previous auction on 3 May ’21 had failed to garner active interest, with the entire volume of 184,000 t of coal remaining unsold.
