Balasore Alloys Limited is planning to resume production of ferro chrome (of different grades) in next 45 days. It will restart its five furnaces in Balasore (72 MVA each) and one in Sukinda (9 MVA) in Odisha, informed Mr. Sureshbabu Chigurupalli, Director (Operations), Balasore Alloys. The company’s production capacity will be 160,000 t/year upon attaining full-fledged operations. In 2021, India produced around 1.2 mnt of ferro chrome.
