Amid elevated offers for 5500 NAR grade Australian coal at $75-76/t, and the freight rate hovering at $30/t for panamax vessels, Indian buyers are shying away from booking Australian thermal coal cargoes, as per CoalMint reports. Hardly any major import deal has been heard this week. On the supply side, with increasing demand for high-CV Australian coal from South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan, there is limited availability of spot cargoes, market participants informed.
