A Panamax cargo of Australian 4800 kcal/kg NAR grade coal is heard to be sold to Tuticorin Thermal Power Plant at $115/t CFR India. Demand of coal from the Australia’s Carmichael mine continues to gain strength in south India due to its relatively cheaper prices over other origins and increasing usage in sponge iron and power sector.
