In a confirmed deal, 2,000 t of Australian 4600 kcal/kg NAR grade coal with 45% fixed carbon was booked at INR 11,000/t at Dhamra Port. Several sponge iron manufacturers in the eastern belt were heard blending Australian coal coming from Carmichael mine with South African RB3 (4800 NAR) owing to its cost-competitiveness. However, DRI producers continued to book small parcels.
