India: APL Apollo Sales Volume Rise by 22% in FY’18 on Strong Domestic Demand

India’s APL Apollo Tubes Limited, one of the largest producers of ERW Steel pipes in India has released its operational and financial performance for March quarter and year ending FY’18.

Company has reported an increase of 22% in sales volumes in FY’18. Company attributes increased volumes to strong domestic demand and commissioning of new DFT lines for hollow section.

The Company has an existing capacity of about 1.8 MnT in six manufacturing units located in Sikandarabad (3 units), Bangalore, Hosur and Murbad. The company mainly makes four major products ie. Hollow Sections, Black pipes, Galvanized Pipes, Pre- galvanized pipes.

Indian pipe market is replacing light structures market due to its strength, weight, durability and aesthetic look.

Key performance highlights as per the recent press release

1) Sales volumes has increased by 22% to 11.3 lakh tons in FY’18 vs FY’17.

2) Sales Volumes has increased by 29% to 3.01 lakh tons in Q4 FY’18 vs Q4 FY17.

Key Developments:

1) In FY’18, company operationalized 6 DFT lines across its facilities of Raipur, Hosur & Murbad.

2) DFT products are witnessing a successful run across market segments, especially in the OEMS and Export markets.

3) Its will also commissioning another 2 lines across existing facilities of Sikandarabad and Hosur in current fiscal year FY’19.

4) With the operationalization of all DFT lines, the company is aiming at a total installed capacity of 2 MnT.
