The mining lease of Anil Khirwal & Co., a private iron ore mine in Kiriburu West Singhbhum district, Jharkhand expired on 1 May’22. The lease period was only till 30 Apr’22 after which activities at the mine came to an end. The respective mine has a total geological reserves of 2.19 mnt pa. As per reports, out of 39 iron ore mining leases in the district, now only mines of Tata Group and Steel Authority of India (SAIL) will continue to operate.
