Alang received 16 vessels for recycling with total 148,112 LDT (light displacement tonnage) in Nov’21, higher by 12% compared with 132,288 LDT in Oct on restocking ahead of winter. In the Jan-Nov period, 191 ships were beached at Alang for demolition, SteelMint data shows. Alang buyers maintained vessel pricing on the lower side, which has kept them in a better position compared to buyers in Bangladesh and Pakistan.
