Alang’s shipbreaking scrap prices were recorded to have decreased marginally by INR 200/t, d-o-d, as per SteelMint assessment. HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 36,500/t, while attachment scrap prices stand at INR 37,500/t. Slight selling pressure was observed yesterday which resulted in the minor correction today. The conversion spread, however, may remain rangebound today at around INR 7,000-7,300/t from Alang melting scrap to Bhavnagar steel ingot, trader sources reported.
