Shipbreaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market have increased following improved buying in semi-finished steel during the late hours in yesterday’s trading session. Heavy Melting Scrap (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 38,000/t, while attachment scrap prices stand at INR 39,000/t. Although the conversion spread might fall slightly today if semi-finished steel prices don’t improve parallelly with melting scrap prices, SteelMint notes.
