Alang’s shipbreaking melting scrap prices witnessed positive trends yesterday and drifted upwards by INR 300/t, d-o-d, as per SteelMint assessment. HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 35,800/t, while attachment scrap prices have been reported at INR 36,800/t. It is expected that semi-finished steel prices in the Gujarat market may remain supported today as a rebound in melting scrap prices is being anticipated by trade channels.
