Structure prices in Ahmedabad, surged by INR 300-400/MT, W-o-W, amid limited availability of the key raw material Scrap, from Alang, Gujarat. However, pan India MS Ingot prices were seen fluctuating in the range of INR 200-500/MT from previous 8-10 days.
Ahmedabad based Structure manufacturers have raised their offer by INR 300-400/MT W-o-W basis in Sept’14 as Scrap price surged by INR 700-800/MT during the same period. However, demand in local market as well as from nearby areas remained stagnant, as sources mention.
The increasing input costs and slow demand of finished steel products forced Indian steel manufacturers to operate at just about 20-40%.
Raipur Structure prices are stable with sparse demand in market and expected that prices will continue to remain same in the coming week.
A Structure manufacturer based in Central India shared “Fresh demands are still not in market. It is expected that the demand is likely to come after Sep’14, 2014. Sources also mentioned that sales might also be affected due to Vishkarma Pooja this week.
Another Structure manufacturer based in Raipur added, “We are producing only about 200 TPD, with an installed capacity at around 1000 TPD and this is because of to high inventory in plants.”
Ahmedabad based Structure manufacturers offering I-Beam 200 at INR 36,100/MT, on next day payment basis.
Raipur based Heavy Structure manufacturers are offering Channel 200 at INR 34,800/MT, on advance payment basis.
