According to media reports, the Union Cabinet may approve the demerger of PSU miner NMDC’s Nagarnar Steel Plant at Bastar in Chhattisgarh on 14th Oct’20. The reports further state that after the demerger of the 3 mn t pa steel plant, the government may also approve strategic sale of the plant. NMDC’s board had approved the demerger in late-Apr’20 after successive failures to commission the plant.
