Imported Scrap Offers to Vietnam Fall Marginally

Prices for imported scrap to Vietnam witnesses a downward trend over the last week, with offers from Japan as well as North America inching down on low demand as well as following the present global trend. The effect of rise in Japanese Kanto tender’s result is yet to be noticed.

Japanese origin H2 scrap in Bulk to Vietnam was sold at USD 281-282/MT CFR Vietnam latter half of last week, down from USD 287-288/MT in the previous week. Offers for Bulk H1/H2 stood at USD USD 277-278/MT CFR.

Higher grade Japanese HS Scrap was sold at USD 310/MT CFR North Vietnam.USA origin Bulk scrap HMS 1&2 (80:20) is being offered at around USD 305/MT CFR, while most buyers in Vietnam were bidding at USD 295-300/MT CFR, with USD 300-302/MT being the workable price. On the other hand, containerized HMS (80:20) in 40 ft containers was sold at USD 270/MT CFR.
