Imported Lump Offers to India Remain Stable

Imported South African lump offers to India remain unchanged this week. Offers for ready stock of Kumba lump (Fe 64%) are assessed at USD 54-55/MT, CFR Kandla.

Kumba lump offers are around USD 56/MT, CFR Kandla for shipments to arrive by end of Dec’15 whereas material from Assmang mines is booked till Feb’16.

Steel market in Gujarat is still amid lesser demand for finished steel products resulting in limited trading activities.

It was learnt through market sources that buying interest remains away from current levels. It was also heard that a Gujarat based steel maker was showing buying interest at USD 51-53/MT, CFR Kandla but suppliers continue to hold their offers at current levels.

Indian iron ore import- Vessel updates

  1. Kamachi group to import 54,100 MT iron ore from South Africa. Vessel named “Yasa Emirhan” is expected to arrive at Krishnapatnam Port on 21 Nov’15
  2. Vessel of 90,000 MT containing Assmang lump which was booked by Gallant Metal, Varssana Ispat, Welspun and Monosteel at around USD 64-65/MT, CFR Kandla is expected to reach Kandla Port towards the end of this month
  3. A vessel containing South African lump of around 70,000 MT was heard to be booked by a Goa based importer at USD 52-53/MT, CFR India. The vessel is expected to arrive at Indian port on end of Dec’15
