Imported iron ore lump offers to India up on global price hike

Imported offers for South African lump to India have picked up by around $5/t w-o-w, SteelMint learned from its sources. The current assessment stands at around $185/t, CNF Kandla which was hovering at $178-182/t, CFR in the last week. The rise is due to rise in the global iron ore fines index to $171.75/t, CNF China (assessed 8th Jan), up by around $17 w-o-w. As per sources report, inquiries for lump in India are on lower side due to preference for domestic ore/pellets.
