Domestic manufacturer
has hiked HR Coil price by Rs 1200-1500 per ton making ex work prices Rs
35000-36000 (basic). Sources confirmed hike were majorly made by few domestic
player including Essar, Jindal and Lloyd however SAIL has kept its prices
unchanged.
“The price for HRC
in the US has shot up by over 12 percent in December over the immediate past
month. As a result, the imported cost of steel to India also increased. At
least a couple of domestic producers have hiked the price by up to Rs 1,500 a tonne
to align with the current imported cost of the metal,” an industry source
said.
“Demand from middle
east country is good and due to dollar appreciation, material realization
improved. We are concentrating in export market as domestic demand is
poor”, said Jindal official
