Export offers for hot-dipped galvanised iron (HDGI) coils (0.50mm, 900-1,250mm) from India decreased by $75/t at INR $1,200/t FOB west coast on account of sharp decline in enquiries. As UK-EU enquiries are drying up, Indian mills are slightly in trouble, SteelMint learnt from sources. India’s HDGI exports rose a whopping 145% to 1.95 million tonnes (mnt) in FY’22 against 0.80 mnt in FY’21.
