Gujarat-based steel mill has booked around 75,000 t of pellets from a West Bengal producer at INR 8,500-9,000/t CIF, Kandla, sources informed SteelMint. Amidst subdued demand, drop in sponge iron production and fall in pellet exports, eastern India mills seem to be exploring other markets. Last week, players from eastern and central India were heard to have sold pellets to southern India-based mills amidst tight availability of iron ore there (in South).
