The Anthracite coal market in India has remained grim as import affinity among user-industries is at the lowest as cheaper alternate fuels, like Petcoke and other forms of coal are available.
Import offers also have remained unchanged at the rates assessed last. The latest import offers from Russia are assessed stable at around USD 94/MT CFR India.

Availability of cheaper alternate fuels gives buyers no reason to opt for the relatively high-priced Anthracite coal.
IMPORTS
During the 1-27Jun’16 period, 118,800 MT of the coal variant was imported into the country, according to the data compiled by SteelMint Research. The importers were: Arya Steel, Rashmi Metaliks, Jindal Steel and Power Limited, Rawmet Commodity.
