Godavari Power & Ispat, a Public Ltd company belonging to Hira Group of Industries in Chhattisgarh, has secured long term coal linkages for its Sponge Iron unit.
A recent statement issued by the company states that coal quantity of 115,900 MT have been acquired in the Trance IV linkage auction under the sponge-iron sub-sector. The linkage auction entitles coal supplies for 5 year, which could be extended to a period of 10 years.
With the additional coal linkages secured in this term, the company’s total coal linkage for its sponge iron division has aggregated to 495,000 MT.
In addition to the coal linkages for its sponge iron units, Godavari Ispat & Power has already secured 111,600 MT of coal linkage for its Gasifier units, while linkage quantity of 98,064 MT and 13,900 MT has also been booked for its captive power plant and Biomass power plant.
Godavari Ispat & Power has now acquired a total coal linkage of 718,564 MT, which covers 80% of the total coal requirement of the company.
Notification for Coal Linkage for Cement Sub-sector:
Coal India Ltd (CIL) has concluded the linkage auction for sponge sub-sector on 17 Jul’18, which is subsequently to be followed by the linkage auction for Cement sub-sector.
The coal company has already floated the timeline for cement sector’s linkage auction, for which the proposal of document and EMD submission has begun from 13 Jul’18.
The Tranche IV of coal linkage auction under cement sub-sector is scheduled to start from 25 Jul’18, for which CIL has offered 3,605,500 MT coal in 23 slots from its 4 subsidiaries.
