Goa’s Chief minister Mr. Laxmikant Pareskar in a meeting conducted yesterday (i.e. 11 Dec’15) urged the truck owners to resolve the deadlock between mine owners and truck owners over transportation of iron ore. And asked that the trucks should resume iron ore transportation from the state.
Recently some truck owners in Goa had created a crisis and stopped transportation of iron ore from the state which has hampered movement of material. The truck owners have demanded for a hike in iron ore transportation rates following which they went on strike.
Iron ore exports from Goa has picked up since Oct’15 post resumption of mining operations in the state and the mine strike created by some of truck owners has hampered the movement of material for export of iron ore.
If market sources are to be believed the deadlock will be resolved shortly and probably might not lead to delaying shipments.
