Global iron ore freights eased w-o-w, with Pacific rates correcting from recent highs while the Atlantic market remained firm. Cautious fixing activity and softer vessel demand weighed on Pacific rates, although firm Atlantic activity continued to support freight levels.

India-bound coal freights firmed w-o-w, supported by tighter Panamax vessel availability and selective Supramax activity. Stronger vessel demand amid constrained supply supported owners’ rate expectations and kept the market sentiment firm.

India’s rice export freight market firmed w-o-w, driven by congestion in West Africa and tighter container space availability. Stronger demand and port congestion supported bulk freight levels, while constrained container capacity further lifted container rates.
