- Stainless steel melt shop production increased by 10.6% y-o-y to 56.3 mn t in CY’21 as against 50.89 mn t in CY’20, as per data from International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF).
- The major producer was China with 30.6 mnt, a marginal rise of 2% compared with 2020, followed by Europe with 7.18 mn t, an increase of 14% as against 2020, and the USA with 2.37 mnt.
- Asia (excluding China and South Korea) recorded production at 7.79 mn t.
