The International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF) has released production figures for the first nine months of 2021 which show that global stainless steel meltshop production increased by 16.9%, year–on–year, to 43 mn t. However, stainless steel production dropped by 4%, q-o-q, in Q3CY’21, mainly because of reduced production in China and Europe. Global stainless steel production had fallen by 5% on the year to 51 mn t in 2020.
