According to the data released by customs, the export of chrome ore by major countries has increased by 4% in CY’16 with exports totaled to 12.6 MnT against 12.2 MnT in CY’15. The imports of Manganese ore remained stable in CY’16.
Exporting Countries
South Africa:
South Africa one of major exporters of chrome ore, exported 9.6 MnT during CY’16, reporting an increase of 6% in its exports as compared to CY’15 where the country exported around 9 MnT.
Turkey:
Turkey, exported 1.25 MnT in CY’16 with a change of 6 % downwards in its exports from CY’15 where the country exported 1.32 MnT of Chrome ore.
Kazakhstan:
The country’s exports of Chrome ore dipped 18% in CY’16 as they exported 0.78 MnT. And they had exported 0.92 MnT in CY’15.
Albania:
Albania exported 0.58 MnT of Chrome ore in CY’16. The exports in CY’16 were more by 6% from CY’15 exports where the country exported 0.54 MnT.
Iran:
Iran registered an increase of 7% in its exports of Chrome ore as the country exported 0.42 MnT in CY’16 as compared to 0.39 MnT Chrome ore export in CY’15.
Importing Countries–
- China, was the largest importer of Chrome ore with a minimal increase of 1% in their imports in CY’16 as they imported 10.57 MnT of Chrome ore as compared to CY’15 imports amounting 10.47 MnT.
- The imports of Chrome ore in Russia decreased by 8% in CY’16, the country imported around 0.80 MnT as compared to the import of 0.87 MnT in CY’15.
- Import of Chrome ore in India were down by 38% for CY’16 as they imported around 0.16 MnT as compared to 0.22 MnT import in CY’2015.
- The USA saw upward movement of 2% in its imports of Chrome ore after importing 0.133 MnT in CY’16 in lieu of 0.130 MnT import in CY’15.
- Turkey imported 0.131 MnT in CY’16 dipping by 4% as the country imported 0.136 MnT of Chrome ore in CY’15.
