prices remained firm this week, due to healthy demand across the world and
higher freight cost.
Ferrous scrap
offers to India stay at US$ 465-475/MT CFR from Europe and USA suppliers
despite lower buying interests. Globally improved demand and high container
charges has kept the offers high to Indian buyers.
In South East Asian
region, prices hold firm. Mills and traders in the two countries have
booked HMS 1&2 (80:20) in containers for materials from the USA and Europe
at US$ 455-465/MT CFR, unchanged from last week, sources in the region said.
However, offers to Chinese mills from US
suppliers also moving between US$ 460-465/MT CFR i.e. down by US$ 5/MT CFR from
last trade price.

US East Coast
ferrous scrap export prices held steady this week despite lower volumes, with
only two confirmed bulk cargo sales to Turkey.
A cargo sold at US$ 452/MT CFR for HMS
1&2 (80:20), US$ 457/MT for Shredded Scrap and US$ 462/MT CFR Turkey for Plate
and Structural Scrap.
