Global alumina production rises over 5%, m-o-m, in May

Global alumina production rose 6%, m-o-m, in May’22 to 11.73 mnt as against 11.06 mnt in Apr, as per International Aluminium Institute (IAI) data.
China was the largest producer at 6.6 mnt, accounting for 56% of global production.
The combined production of Asia (excluding China) and Africa stood at 1.21 mnt in May, a growth of around 3% compared to 1.18 mnt in the previous month.
