Global alumina production falls around 9% m-o-m in Feb’22

World’s primary alumina production fell by 8.78% in Feb’22 to 10.60 mnt against 11.62 mnt in Jan’22 (chemical and metallurgical), as per the International Aluminium Institute (IAI).
China emerged as the world’s largest producer with an estimated volume of 5.70 mn t. However, the volume fell by 9.52% m-o-m, as per SteelMint data.
However on a y-o-y basis, world alumina production rose slightly by 1% from 10.50 mnt in Feb’21.
