Glencore reports lower copper, zinc and lead production y-o-y in Q1CY’22

Mining major Glencore’s copper production stood at 257,800 t in Q1CY’22, 14% lower than the previous fiscal. The major reasons behind drop in production were technical issues at the Katanga mine and lower copper units production as well as the sale of the Earnest Henry mine in Jan’22.

• Own-sourced zinc production of 241,500 t was 41,000 t (15%) lower than Q1CY’21.
• Lead production stood at 46,800 t, 8,500 t (15%) lower than Q1CY’21.
