Following the announcement of the three-day halt of Russian gas supplies to Europe, German energy giant Uniper SE said it will restart its Heyden 4 hard-coal-fired power plant from 29 Aug’22 till 30 Apr’23 to narrow down the supply gap. The power plants had stopped commercial operations since Dec’20 as regulators included it on the list of plants that may be shut in return for compensation to fight carbon pollution.
