August 12,

The freight charges on the Brazil to China route has moved up around $3/tonne to $26.4/tonne

One of the reasons for this increase could be China’s rising investments in Brazil’s Steel and Iron ore mining companies which may mean more traffic between the two nations going forward

Similarly, freight charges on Australia to China route has also gone up by $1/tonne

Freight charges on Brazil/Australia to China route has been increasing consistently whereas it is almost stable on India to China route. This could be a reflection of declining traffic in this route.
