France, the world’s seventh largest iron ore importer has imported 0.98 MnT iron ore in Sept’16, according to the trade statistics released by France customs.
Iron ore imports have witnessed a downfall of 38% M-o-M as it was 1.57 MnT in Aug’16. However, France iron ore imports dropped down by 1% on Y-o-Y basis as imports were around 0.99 MnT in Sept’15.
During the first nine months of 2016, the country imported 10.37 MnT iron ore, down by 15% Y-o-Y as it was 12.21 MnT in the same period prior this year.
The non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps and fines) import in Sept’16 was registered at 0.60 MnT, down by 49% M-o-M and 25% Y-o-Y. On similar lines, the agglomerated ore (pellets and concentrates) import was registered at 0.38 MnT, down by 3% M-o-M and up by 100% Y-o-Y.
- Brazil, the largest exporter of iron ore to France has exported around 50% of the total France imports. In Sept’16, the country exported 0.44 MnT iron ore, down by 42% M-o-M. The nation imported 0.68 MnT iron ore in Sept’15.
- Canada, the second-largest iron ore exporter of iron ore to France has exported 0.35 MnT in Sept’16 against 0.60 MnT in Aug’16. The country exported 0.25 MnT iron ore in Sept’15 to France.
- Mauritania, the third largest iron ore exporter of iron ore to France has exported 0.08 MnT in Sept’16 as well as in Aug’16. The nation exports remained nil in Sept’15.
