Ferrexpo Pellet Production Falls Marginally in CY ’19

Ferrexpo plc, third largest exporter of pellet in the global market has released its Q4 CY19 results today. The company recorded pellet production at 10.52 MnT in CY19, down slightly as compared to 10.61 MnT in CY18. The output reduced amid falling demand.

High grade pellet production up 3% Y-o-Y – Out of the total 10.52 MnT pellets produced, 96% of total (10.12 MnT) comprised of high grade pellet i.e 65% Fe pellet, up 3% Y-o-Y. Remaining 0.40 MnT was Fe 62% grade pellet.

On quarterly basis, production increased 4% to 2.63 MnT as against 2.54 MnT in Q3 CY19. However, output for the quarter dropped 8% compared to 2.85 MnT in Q4 CY18.

The total pellet sales for the year CY19 stood at around 10.3 MnT as against 10.23 MnT in CY18.

Ferrexpo is 3rd largest pellet exporter to global industry with a market share of around 8.5%. The company’s supplier base includes Austria, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, China, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Turkey and Vietnam.
